Original language: GermanDie Wendeanlage Donaustadion wird ab 2026 im Zuge des Umbaus der Straßenbahnlinie 1 erneuert und barrierefrei ausgebaut. Ziel ist die Verlängerung der Haltesteige für verlängerte Bahnen und eine Taktverdichtung. Die Maßnahme umfasst auch neue Gleiße und eine Fahrradstraße. Im Rahmen der Umgestaltung wurde zudem eine baumfreundliche Fahrleitungsplanung entwickelt, um Eingriffe in den bestehenden Baumbestand so gering wie möglich zu halten. Dadurch konnte die Beeinträchtigung der vorhandenen Habitatstrukturen minimiert werden. Infolge dieser Planung hat sich jedoch die Anzahl der erforderlichen Fahrleitungsmasten erhöht.
