Ammoniak kann jedoch auch im Straßenverkehr - insbesondere im Rahmen der Abgasnachbehandlung - freigesetzt werden. Mit der EU-Luftqualitätsrichtlinie 2024/2881 wird Ammoniak erstmals als besorgniserregender Luftschadstoff eingestuft und in die Messverpflichtungen von Supersites aufgenommen. Bisher liegen - insbesondere im Bereich von Bundesautobahnen - unzureichende Messdaten vor. Ziel dieser Untersuchung ist daher eine systematische Erfassung und Bewertung straßenverkehrsbedingter Ammoniak-Konzentrationen an Bundesautobahnen zur Schaffung einer belastbaren Datengrundlage für die immissionsfachliche Einordnung des Straßenverkehrs als Emissionsquelle. Neben einer systematischen Aufbereitung des wissenschaftlichen Standes zu Ammoniak-Immissionen im straßennahen Umfeld, sollen hierfür Passivsammlermessungen nach VDI 3869 Blatt 4 an zwei Standorten (BASt-Messquerschnitt A 555 bei Wesseling + weiterer hochfrequentierter BAB-Standort) für den Zeitraum eines Jahres durchgeführt werden. Die Messungen sollen beidseitig der Fahrbahn im Zwei-Wochen-Intervall mit Doppelbestimmung zur Qualitätssicherung erfolgen. Die Laboranalyse soll durch ein nach DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 akkreditiertes Labor durchgeführt werden. Im Rahmen der Datenauswertung sollen saisonale, meteorologische und verkehrsbedingte Einflüsse sowie Wechselwirkungen zwischen Ammoniak, Stickoxiden und Feinstaub analysiert werden. Mittels Luv-Lee-Analyse soll der verkehrsbedingte Beitrag zur Gesamtbelastung abgeschätzt werden. Aufbauend auf den Ergebnissen wird ein Konzept zur dauerhaften Integration eines Ammoniak-Messsystems in den Messquerschnitt A 555 entwickelt. Das Vorhaben schafft eine belastbare Datengrundlage zur immissionsfachlichen Einordnung des Straßenverkehrs als Ammoniak-Quelle und ermöglicht zukünftig die Validierung modellierter Ammoniakkonzentrationen im Straßenverkehr.
