Iraq Field Coordinator / Survey Supervisor Organization Sustainable Research and Development Center Posted 7 Aug 2026 Closing date 23 Aug 2026 SRD Center is seeking an experienced Field Coordinator / Survey Supervisor to support the implementation of a mixed-methods research assignment in Baghdad and Basra, Iraq. The research will include a quantitative survey of approximately 1,000–1,200 respondents, together with qualitative interviews and stakeholder engagement activities. The Field Coordinator / Survey Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and supervision of field data collection and will ensure that enumerators conduct interviews in accordance with the approved sampling methodology, questionnaire, ethical procedures, data protection requirements, and quality standards. Tasks: The Field Coordinator / Survey Supervisor will: Coordinate fieldwork activities in the assigned governorate(s). Support the development of a detailed field implementation plan. Assist in identifying appropriate field locations and respondent access strategies. Support the recruitment and mobilisation of enumerators/interviewers. Coordinate and participate in enumerator training. Organise and supervise questionnaire pre-testing and pilot data collection. Develop daily fieldwork schedules and assign enumerators to agreed locations. Ensure that sampling instructions and respondent selection procedures are correctly implemented. Supervise face-to-face/CAPI data collection. Monitor enumerator performance and compliance with research protocols. Conduct daily quality checks on completed questionnaires. Identify missing, inconsistent, incomplete, or potentially unreliable data. Provide immediate feedback and corrective guidance to enumerators. Monitor progress against daily and overall sample targets. Maintain appropriate records of field implementation and respondent coverage. Coordinate with local stakeholders where necessary to facilitate safe and effective field access. Ensure informed consent, confidentiality, anonymity, and data protection procedures are followed. Escalate fieldwork challenges, risks, delays, or security concerns to the research management team. Coordinate closely with quantitative research and data management staff. Support qualitative interview scheduling where required. Prepare regular progress updates on fieldwork implementation. Contribute practical observations and contextual information to the research team. Support final verification and closure of field activities. Qualifications: Candidates should have: University degree in social sciences, statistics, development studies, economics, sociology, political science, or another relevant discipline. Demonstrated professional experience in supervising survey fieldwork in Iraq. Strong experience managing teams of enumerators/interviewers. Previous experience with large-scale household, socio-economic, migration, labour market, humanitarian, or similar surveys. Experience using CAPI/mobile data collection systems such as KoboToolbox, ODK, SurveyCTO, CommCare, or similar platforms. Good understanding of sampling procedures and field implementation protocols. Demonstrated experience conducting field-level data quality control. Knowledge of Baghdad and/or Basra and familiarity with local communities and institutional structures. Ability to organise field logistics and manage multiple teams and locations. Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet daily data collection targets. Fluency in Arabic is required. Good English communication skills are desirable. Experience working with migrants, IDPs, returnees, youth, or other potentially vulnerable populations is an advantage. Commitment to confidentiality, research ethics, and responsible data management.
