Invitation for Pre-qualification

For

THE DESIGN, SUPPLY, INSTALLATION, TESTING AND COMMISSIONING OF AN AUTOMATED BANKNOTE BUNDLING, BANDING, BARCODE LABELING AND READING SYSTEM.

Tender No: PA/082/2012-2013/HQ/G/08

This invitation for prequalification follows the General Procurement Notice for this procurement that appeared on various newspapers dated 24th July, 2012.

Pre-qualification will be conducted through the procedures specified in Regulation 15 of the Public Procurement (Goods, Works, Non-Consultant Services and Disposal of Public Assets by Tender) Regulations– Government Notice 97 of 2005, and is open to all firmsand voluntarily formed joint ventures.

The Bank of Tanzania during theFinancial Year 2012/2013 has set aside funds for theDesign, Supply, Installation, testing and commissioning of an Automated Banknote Bundling, Banding, Barcode Labeling and Reading System. Bank of Tanzania is now issuing Pre-qualification Notice in accordance with the requirements of the Public Procurement Act 2004 and Regulations 2005. It is expected that invitations to bid will be made in December, 2012.

Eligible vendors are invited to apply for pre-qualification in Design, Supply, Installation, testing and commissioning of an Automated Banknote Bundling, Banding, Barcode Labeling and Reading System; AND must meet the following qualification criteria;

Legal status of the businesses.

•

Demonstrated experience of working on bundling, banding and labeling system and effectively presenting the prototype system.

•

The solution can be automated and interfaced with the banking software.

•

Demonstrated capabilities (both technical and professional) to undertake this assignment. Such information shall include company profile, brochures, description of similar assignments – two successful assignments, project management methodology, availability of appropriate skills among staff to undertake the project, List of major clients with references for the past two years etc.

•

Training competency for imparting knowledge on functionality of the system and technical skills to system users

•

Experience in working with Central Banks will be an added advantage.

•

Information on current litigation in which the firm is involved, if any.

•

Provide most current financial statement.

Interested applicants are advised to obtain further information from and inspect the pre-qualification documents at the office of the Secretary, Bank of Tanzania Central Tender Board,10 Mirambo Street, 5th Floor, South Tower from 8.30 am-4.30 pmon Monday to Friday except on public holidays before the deadline for the submission of applications.

A completeset of pre-qualification documents in English may be collected at NO FEE by interested applicants and voluntarily formed joint ventures on the submission of a written application to the address provided below.

Interested applicants are free to request a prequalification document through Bank of Tanzania, Procurement Department email addresses provided below and the same will be forwarded through your email.

Applications for pre-qualification should be submitted in sealed envelopes, delivered to the address given below by Wednesday 21st November 2012 at or before 11.00 hrs and be clearly marked "PRE-QUALIFICATION FOR THE DESIGN, SUPPLY, INSTALLATION, TESTING AND COMMISSIONING OF AN AUTOMATED BANKNOTE BUNDLING, BANDING, BAR CODE LABELING AND READING SYSTEM".

Electronic applications are allowed, however late applications, incomplete applications, and applications not received shall not be considered for short listing irrespective of any circumstance.
