Description

MSAC conducts annual slip-resistance testing across the facility. Testing undertaken in in February 2024, August and November 2025, and March 2026 confirmed that 47 areas across MSAC and LAKE failed to meet minimum slip-rating standards. Slip-resistance tests have revealed that sections of the existing flooring — comprising sheet vinyl, stair nosings, coated concrete, and ceramic tiles — do not meet the required safety classifications. As a result, the State Sports Centres Trust (SSCT) intends to treat or replace non-compliant flooring in affected areas, so they meet slip-rating standards.
