Description

PROJECT BACKGROUND Little Bow Provincial Park is a popular recreation destination in southern Alberta, situated along the shores of Travers Reservoir and accessible from Highway 529. The park supports a range of activities, including camping and day-use recreation, and serves as an important regional recreation hub. The park’s infrastructure includes campgrounds, group-use areas, day-use nodes, boat launches, potable water systems, internal roadways, and supporting facilities. These assets have been developed incrementally over time and now reflect a mix of aging infrastructure, varying levels of service, and evolving visitor expectations. A coordinated and comprehensive assessment is required to ensure that infrastructure remains safe, functional, and aligned with long-term operational objectives and desired visitor experiences. This work will support improved asset management, identify infrastructure gaps and constraints, and inform strategic planning and future investment decisions within the park. The Project Plan for the area establishes general objectives relative to the location identified within the site area. Following the processes outlined in this RFP; the successful Proponent will work with the Province to investigate and formalize opportunities identified in the Project Plan so as to implement and achieve the end result desired by the Province. The portions of the Project Plan to be implemented as part of the work of this project are outlined in detail in ‘2.0 Project Description’. The purpose of this RFP is to invite Proposals from suitably qualified Proponents who demonstrate sufficient experience and qualification to provide a comprehensive infrastructure assessment of sites as identified and supported by the Project Plan.
