Dagens bru er i dårlig stand og skal erstattas med ny bru. Arbeidet omfatter også riving av dagens bru etter at ny er bygd.
Det skal i tillegg gjøres utbedringer på eksisterende fylkesveg. Noen endringer av linjeføring, tilpassing av avkjørsler, busslomme med mer.
