Gases (Nationwide) for the National Category Laboratory

Within the National Laboratories, there is an ongoing need for a portfolio of laboratory gases (such as hydrogen, helium, nitrogen, etc.). Gases are used, for example, as carriers in analyses, as references in analyses, and for cooling. The desired quality of gases often depends on the requirements of the analysis equipment. A portfolio of gases can consist of various types of gases in various qualities and various packaging forms, such as cylinders (both rental and owned cylinders), dewars, and bulk. In addition to the supply of gases, a number of participating departments require services such as connecting and changing cylinders and automated or manual inventory control. Some participating departments also require regular refilling of dewars with liquid nitrogen (cryo service). The current agreement stems from a European tender in 2021. The agreement with the current supplier is expiring. It is anticipated that the National Laboratories will continue to have a need for gases in the coming years. The following National Laboratories are participating in this procurement process: Customs Laboratory; Ministry of Defence; Netherlands Forensic Institute (NFI); Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA); Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management (RWS).
