Description

Intercity Train – Western Axis (São Paulo–Sorocaba) | Geological-Geotechnical Investigation Services (IFC C3P)
IFC's C3P program is launching the selection of a specialized geotechnical consulting firm to carry out geological-geotechnical borehole investigations along the planned tunnel alignments of the Intercity Train project (ICT) – Western Axis, connecting the municipalities of São Paulo and Sorocaba, State of São Paulo, Brazil.
The baseline investigation program comprises 8 (eight) Standard Penetration Test (SPT) boreholes totaling an estimated 200 (two hundred) meters of drilling, distributed across the two tunnel alignments defined in the preliminary design. The Consultant will be responsible for all fixed and variable costs associated with service execution, including mobilization and demobilization of personnel and equipment, field logistics, water supply, topographic surveying, surface reinstatement of borehole locations, and provision of all PPE/CPE in accordance with applicable Brazilian safety standards.
Where subsurface conditions encountered during SPT execution indicate the presence of rock or complex geological transitions, the Consultant may be requested to convert specific boreholes to composite type (SPT + rotary core drilling), subject to prior written approval by IFC.

The selected firm must deliver the following products within the contractual timeframe of up to 90 (ninety) calendar days from contract execution:
Mobilization plan and detailed schedule
Geotechnical Investigation Plan with georeferenced borehole locations
Daily borehole logs with technical and photographic records
Individual geological-geotechnical borehole profiles
Consolidated final technical report in PDF format, including borehole location plan, termination criteria, test results, and shear strength parameter calculations
Editable data files (Excel, KMZ, or equivalent)
The selected firm must demonstrate proven experience in geotechnical investigation campaigns for infrastructure projects, particularly in urban environments, and capacity to mobilize drilling equipment suitable for SPT and rotary core drilling operations in densely populated areas.
