Description

As part of the Greek National Satellite Space Project - Phase 2, the objective of this activity is the procurement of Phase A/B1 for an In-Orbit Demonstration (IOD) mission aimed at the development and in-space demonstration of a flexible small-satellite platformenabling future In-Space Servicing, Assembly and Manufacturing (ISAM) missions. The mission shall demonstrate autonomous rendezvous, inspection and close-proximity operations (CPO) capabilities in orbit, while supporting the development of European industrial andcommercial capabilities and fostering future operational services. The mission shall address identified user needs and market opportunities with the objective of contributing to the development of future European in-space infrastructure and services. Tenderers shall therefore propose a mission concept that combines technology demonstration objectives with a credible path towards future operational applications. The mission and system development approach shall be based on a modular and scalable architecture, supported byanincremental demonstration strategy with clearly defined primary and extended objectives. The proposed implementation shall prioritise mission success, schedule robustness and affordability, while enabling future capability growth. Primary objectives will focus on demonstrating autonomous rendezvous, inspection and close-proximity operations capabilities, including relative navigation, guidance and control, onboard autonomy, mission operations and payload-carrying capability. Secondary objectives may include extended CPO manoeuvres (V-bar and R-bar approaches), synchronised relative motion demonstrations, technology maturation activities for futureISAM missions, and payload accommodation demonstrations such as advanced sensors or robotics. The implementation of secondary objectives will be subject to available resources and mission opportunities, without compromising the achievement of the primary objectives.
