Main drainage pipe renovation (KG 410)

The Museum of Hamburg History at Holstenwall 24 in Hamburg was built between 1914 and 1922 and is a listed building. As part of the current construction project, a fundamental renovation and restructuring of the exhibition areas as well as a renewal of the building services equipment are taking place. The building comprises the following main uses: Lower ground floor: functional and storage areas, workshops, restoration rooms, office spaces, depots, kitchen and technical areas (heating/cooling, air conditioning, sanitary, electrical). // Ground floor: Areas for special and temporary exhibitions, catering with kitchen, foyer, shop, and event area. // 1st and 2nd upper floors: Areas for exhibitions as well as administrative offices // Attic: Further exhibition areas, administrative areas, storage and workshop rooms. The construction will take place in two construction phases. KG 410 Main drainage pipe renovation: As part of the construction project, the existing property drainage system is to be comprehensively renovated. Drainage will continue to be carried out using a separate system for wastewater and rainwater. Due to identified damage and leaks in the inspected pipes, a renovation of the property drainage system is necessary. The measure includes the renovation of the wastewater and rainwater sewer pipes inside and outside the building, including the main drainage pipes running under the floor slab and the associated manholes. The renovation will be carried out predominantly using trenchless methods (liner process). For the execution of the work, openings in the floor slab at selected points and the creation of construction pits will be necessary to create the necessary access to the pipes. In addition, inspection openings will be created in downpipes. In the outdoor area, the main drainage pipes will be renovated primarily via existing manholes and downpipes. In the courtyard area, supplementary civil engineering work will be required to renovate the pipes in the supply area of the pump station. Furthermore, existing manholes will be repaired, the channels renewed, and the manhole walls renovated. The services include all necessary preparatory work, the renovation work including all materials, as well as the required leak tightness and quality certificates. The execution will be carried out in close coordination with the involved building services trades and the structural engineering. Coordination services are part of the tendered services.
