Description

Existing operational user interfaces for ground segment are primarily built on aging software platforms characterized by deprecated technologies, a monolithic architecture and rigid implementation. While these legacy platforms provide stability for established scenarios, it struggles to adapt to modern operational demands specifically the introduction of remote operations, cloud infrastructure management, and the seamless integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Building on the EGS-CC WebUI and the PulseUI, a specialized WebUI branch tailored for operational environments, the new approach has enabled support for comprehensive UI testing, facilitate remote control capabilities, and better align with the microservices architecture backends. To overcome these challenges and achieve the goals of the project, an architectural and design approach based on the following will be required: - Web-Based Architecture: To guarantee high flexibility and stability. - Unified Design System: Establishing a common look and feel across the ground segment. - Industry-Standard Framework Principles: Adopting the principles of established UI frameworks (such as Material Design). This will provide a comprehensive suite of reusable components, complete with intuitive documentation and tutorials, hence mitigates the risk of "technology islands".
