Children's and youth accident insurance 2026

Conclusion of a general children's and youth accident insurance contract for the year 2026 in accordance with the provisions of Government Decree No. 119/2003 (VIII.14.) on general children's and youth accident insurance. Every Hungarian citizen is insured under Government Decree No. 119/2003 (VIII.14.) from the day they turn 3 years old until the day they turn 18 years old. The accident insurance legal relationship comes into effect for the insured person on the day they turn 3 years old and ceases on the day they turn 18 years old. Start of risk coverage (if applicable, based on preliminary coverage): 01.01.2026. Regarding preliminary coverage, the Contracting Authority states that the preliminary coverage is granted based on Section 6:445 (2) of the Civil Code of 2013 (hereinafter referred to as the Civil Code), in accordance with the provisions of Section 6:445 (3) of the Civil Code, the period of preliminary coverage does not extend beyond 90 days, and its remuneration is governed by Section 6:445 (4) of the Civil Code. Estimated number of insured persons based on KSH data available at the time of initiating the public procurement procedure: 1,506,507 people. The winning bidder must have customer service points in at least one settlement in every county and at least three different locations in Budapest throughout the entire contract period, which meet the requirement of being open for customer traffic for at least 40 hours per week on weekdays. They must also have telephone and e-mail access for central administration and information. Detailed technical requirements are included in the procurement documents.
