De Maurice Ravelweg en Strausspaden (langzaam verkeerroutes) liggen in Nieuw Waldeck. De langzaamverkeerroute (Strausspaden) zijn belangrijk voor de klimaatbestendigheid van de wijk, vormen een belangrijke ontmoetingsplek en vormt de verbinding tussen de verschillende voorzieningen (buurtcentra en scholen) en de buurten. Dit netwerk van langzaam verkeersroutes vernieuwd. Er worden voetpaden aangelegd en er komt een voetpad langs het Strausspad (fietsroute) met een duidelijke scheiding.
De openbare ruimte in de buurten met woonerfstructuur is er zeer slecht aan toe. Dat betekent een inzet op herinrichting om het functioneren van de openbare ruimte te verbeteren, het structureren van parkeren, het aanpakken van wortelopdruk en vernieuwen van afgeschreven materialen. Ten behoeve van de veiligheid krijgt de Maurice Ravelweg (toegang van de wijk) een andere indeling (smaller met verkeersdrempels en langsparkeren) en wordt het asfalt vervangen door klinkers. Ook worden er bomen geplaatst zodat de straat beter aansluit bij het park (groenzone).
De werkzaamheden bestaan op hoofdlijnen uit:
Aanpassen wandel- en fietspaden;
Aanpassen rijweg en realiseren parkeervakken;
Herinrichting speeltuin.
