Ten behoeve van de inpassing van de Hoogwaardig Openbaar Vervoerverbinding Eindhoven Centrum – Veldhoven De Run (HOV4) wordt onder andere een ongelijkvloerse kruising gerealiseerd met de ring (Limburglaan) en de Karel de Grotelaan. Deze kruising draagt bij aan de verbetering van de verkeersveiligheid en de doorstroming voor alle vervoerswijzen op dit punt. Daarbij wordt gestreefd naar een compacte inpassing, waarbij de ring onder de kruising door zal worden geleid.
