Riešený úsek cesty I/65 sa nachádza v Banskobystrickom kraji, v okrese Žiar nad Hronom a obchádza obec Stará Kremnička z jej východnej strany. Začiatok riešeného úseku je v km. 79,075 (začiatok úseku „A“ navrhovanej PHC), koniec riešeného úseku je v km. 81,15 (koniec úseku „B“ navrhovanej PHC). Celková dĺžka riešeného úseku je 2,075 km. Úsek vedie extravilánom obce Stará Kremnička. Podľa dopravnej mapy nehodovosti Slovenska na cestách I. a II. triedy, predmetná lokalita nepatrí do územia s veľkou hustotou dopravných nehôd. Účelom navrhovanej stavby je zníženie hlukovej záťaže z cestnej dopravy cesty I/65, prechádzajúcej extravilánom obce Stará Kremnička pomocou realizácie novej protihlukovej clony (PHC). Návrh PHC vychádza primárne z posúdenia prekročenia prípustnej hlukovej záťaže na okolitú zástavbu. Pre účel posúdenia bola spracovaná samostatná hluková štúdia (dátum spracovania 07/2022, dodatok spracovaný 03/2023). Na základe jej výsledkov sa navrhuje dĺžka a výšky jednotlivých segmentov PHC).
