Description of the AssignmentThe consultant will be responsible:To draft and finalise a comprehensive training module curriculum on human rights, Gender Based Violence, domestic violence, child abuse and sexual offences.To collaborate with local and international experts, non-governmental and victim support organisations to ensure that the curriculum is evidence-based and reflective of best practices.To pilot training module with select group of police officers and gather feedback for refinement.To develop a Training of Trainers (TOT) to ensure the long-term sustainability of the module’s implementation.Induct Police Senior Managers on LNOB principles and inclusion especially policing equitably and non-discriminatory especially inContact with Key Populations.Scope of WorkA revised DCS Training Module/curriculum aligned to best practices and Human rights standardsA complete & comprehensive training manual with Facilitator/Teachers GuideEnhanced capacity development encompassing key objectives – improved knowledge, skills and attitude among police officers in handling victims and investigation of cases.Standardized Training Module that can be utilized for both pre-service and in-service training initiatives.The ideal candidate should meet / exceed the below requirements;Have minimum an advanced university degree (Master’s Degree or Higher in Law, Social Sciences, Social Work (with focus on child protection, trauma, or family welfare), Postgraduate trainingor certification in:Gender studies or women’s rights, Child protection systems and safeguarding Trauma-informed care or victim support, Law enforcement or justice sector reform, Instructional design or training-of-trainers (ToT)Professional Experience: Human Rights, Gender equality, women’s empowerment, Key populations, Gender based Violence or related social justice fields, Child welfare frameworks and protective service mechanisms, Approaches to trauma-sensitive care and support for victims, Reform initiatives within policing or broader justice systems, Curriculum development and facilitation techniques for adult learners (ToTs).Special skills / experience and other qualification proving to be advantageous and vital to the success of the work implementation ; Be familiar with Policing Standards and Justice Systems in the African settings especially SADC context, Practical experience in law enforcement training, justice reform, or multi-sectoral coordination on protection issues is equally critical, Sensitivity to cultural values, traditions, and social practices that shape community understanding of violence and justiceAbility to produce high quality outputs in a timely manner while understanding and anticipating the evolving client needs.Strong organizational skills.Ability to work independently, produce high quality outputs.Sound judgment, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage competing priorities.Period of assignment/services: 40 daysProposal should be submitted directly in the portal no later than indicated deadline.Any request for clarification must be sent in writing via messaging functionality in the portal.
