Description

The intent of this Request for Qualification (“RFQ”) is to solicit Submissions, in accordance with the requirements described in this document, from Respondents interested in providing Design-Build Services for the Project herein described. As part of the 2025 School Capital Announcement, the Province is undertaking the procurement of Design-Build services for select schools. This Request for Qualification (“RFQ”) relates to the delivery of the following Schools: • New K – 4 in NW Calgary Nolan Hill • New 5 - 9 in NW Calgary Sherwood The province has retained a Bridging Consultant to prepare the Bridging Documents, including the Minimum Material Requirements and Additional Performance Requirements, which will define the technical, functional, and performance criteria for the Project. These Bridging Documents will be provided to shortlisted Proponents during the Request for Proposals (RFP) stage of the procurement process to guide the development of Design-Build submissions. At the time of issuance of this RFQ, the Project has progressed to the 30% Design Development stage through the bridging process. The Bridging Documents are intended to establish the minimum design and performance standards required by the Province, while allowing Proponents the flexibility to propose innovative and cost-effective solutions that meet or exceed those standards. The Province anticipates that these 2 Schools would be delivered within 36 months after RFP contract award, which includes the one-year warranty period. The project is part of the APD 9 Portfolio involving the Design-Build (DB) delivery of ten (10) new schools in Calgary, all expected to open in 2029.
