Inspection pipelines without disrupting water supply

The contracting authority is seeking an innovative solution for inspecting water pipelines, aimed at providing a reliable and efficient assessment of the condition over a minimum length of 1 kilometer. This assessment should be based on the (remaining) wall thickness and the detection of leaks with relatively minimal effort. The proposed solution must meet the following functional requirements: Uninterrupted Water Supply: The inspection method must be capable of assessing the pipelines without disrupting the water supply. This means that no shut-offs, pressure losses, or interruptions in the drinking water supply should occur before, during, or after the inspection process. Applicability to Asbestos Cement Pipes: The technology must be suitable for inspecting pipelines made from various materials, with specific applicability to asbestos cement pipes. The accuracy for asbestos cement must be at least equivalent to that for other pipe materials. Representative and Accurate Measurement Results: To accurately determine and locate the remaining wall thickness, the accuracy of the measurement results must be representative of the entire measured length of the pipeline and provided in a segmented report. It is essential that conclusions about the condition of the pipeline network are not based on too few measurement points within the measured section. The technology must be capable of collecting data that provides a realistic and comprehensive view of the condition of the pipelines, allowing Brabant Water to make informed decisions regarding the maintenance and replacement of its pipeline network.
