Description
Scope of IRIDE Service Segment is to implement an operational service portfolio providing geospatial products and to set up the digital tools and the operational scenarios for the provision of the services to IRIDE Users (with a focus on Institutional sector), byalso taking care of designing and developing suitable exploitation solutions and interfaces with User Operational Systems for the use of IRIDE Services outputs. Main Service Thematic Domains to be addressed by the Service Segment have been identified by previous work carried out within National User Forum and related working groups at Institutional level. They are: Coastal and Marine Monitoring; Air Quality; Ground Motion; Land Cover\Land Use; Hydro\Meteo\Climate; Water Management; Emergency Response; Security. These Service Thematic Domains will drive the design, implementation and delivery of dedicated Service Segment elements, named Service Value Chains, relying on a common infrastructure, the IRIDE Marketplace, where enabling blocks of the SVCs will be provided, such as data catalogues, marketplace for accessing the services, etc. Although the provided services will be based on satellite data processing, they will also identify and integrate other data sources necessary for the compliance with the information need of the User. IRIDE Service Value Chains will be designed with user driven approach and therefore IRIDE data will be used in a wider input data set. Impact assessment activities will be also designed and carried on, in order to evaluate the utility, benefits and impact of provided services. Moreover, activities related to liaison with on-going relevant initiatives primarily in Italy and in Europe will be included, for non-duplication and for building IRIDE in a wider context. Last but not least, fundamental activity for the success of IRIDE Service Segment, will be devoted to User uptake of the services and to the analysis of sustainable operational scenarios, to be implemented after the end of the Programme. The work will be organised according to three cycles of similar activities, one year each. The precursor cycle will design, develop and deliver Services that are based on existing data sets. The following ones will integrate IRIDE data, enabling new services, new processors and an enlargement of the User Community.
