Hankinnan kohteena oli potilastietojärjestelmäpalvelu Maahanmuuttovirastolle. Potilastietietojärjestelmäpalvelua käytetään Maahanmuuttovirastossa, vastaanottokeskuksissa ja säilöönottoyksiköissä. Hankittavalla potilastietojärjestelmäpalvelulla korvataan nykyisin käytössä oleva potilastietojärjestelmäpalvelu.
Hankinnan tavoitteena oli hankkia Suomessa markkinoilla oleva selainkäyttöinen potilastietojärjestelmäpalvelu yhdeltä kokonaisvastuulliselta toimittajalta. Hankinnalla tavoitellaan potilastietojärjestelmää, joka on vakiintuneessa tuotantokäytössä ja nopeasti käyttöönotettavissa. Potilastietojärjestelmä hankitaan palveluna, jossa toimittaja tarjoaa potilastietojärjestelmän käyttöoikeuden sekä siihen liittyvän järjestelmäympäristön palveluna. Potilastietojärjestelmää tulee pystyä ylläpitämään ja kehittämään vastaamaan muuttuvia toiminnallisia tarpeita. Hankittavan potilastietojärjestelmän tulee mahdollistaa käyttäjille hyvä käyttökokemus sekä tarjota edellytykset sujuvaan työskentelyyn.,
