As the operator of the national road network, Magyar Közút Nonprofit Zrt. is responsible for winter de-icing and snow removal of roads. One of the main raw materials for de-icing (besides NaCl) is an aqueous solution of CaCl2. Its use includes wetting dry salt spreading (to achieve adhesion and preventive protection) and protection against slipperiness in severe cold. The aqueous solution is purchased by the Contracting Authority as a finished product or mixed from granules. The intensity of CaCl2 solution use varies, necessitating storage. The Contracting Authority wishes to expand its existing storage capacity, which it intends to achieve through the rental of tanks within the framework of this procurement procedure. I. TANK TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION Tank storage capacity: at least 20 m3, up to 25 m3 (This refers to the internal volume of the tank, including the space left free for thermal expansion.) Tank external dimensions: diameter: between 2 m – 3 m height: between 4 m – 5.2 m tank material: metal, with surface protection resistant to CaCl2 solution external color: light Equipment requirements: • the tank must be equipped with a cleaning or manhole, of the necessary size, to allow access to the inside of the tank; • the tank must have an inspection opening; • must have a pump for transferring to the tanks of de-icing vehicles and for mixing the contents of the tank, with a capacity of at least 500 l/min; • must have a level sensor for the pump, which stops pumping below the minimum level; • the tank must have a device that indicates the liquid level inside to the operator. The level indicator must be readable from the side of the tank while standing on the ground; • must have filling and emptying connections, each equipped with a shut-off valve; • supply of connecting hoses and fittings required for filling the spreader; • length of filling hose required for filling the spreader: min. 5 m. Quality requirements: • must be statically resistant to the quantity of CaCl2 solution to be stored, • must be resistant to the chemical effects of the CaCl2 solution to be stored.
