KGB Project Management

The Büttgen indoor swimming pool is to be energetically renovated by the Kaarster Gesellschaft für Bäder (KGB or Contracting Authority). The indoor swimming pool in Kaarst Büttgen, built in 1970, consists of a 10 x 25 m swimming pool, a 12.5 x 8 m teaching pool, and a children's pool with a water surface of approx. 25 m², as well as other attractions such as a mushroom fountain, steering wheel, water toad, and slide. Despite several modernization measures in the past, the swimming pool no longer meets current requirements in almost all areas. A complete renovation of all areas of the swimming pool is therefore planned. The energetic renovation, which is the subject of this tender, is of outstanding importance both from an environmental protection perspective and from a financial point of view. In this respect, it can be assumed that a significant increase in energy efficiency can be expected after the extensive insulation and renovation measures have been carried out. At the same time, the consumption of gas for operating the combined heat and power plant will decrease, thus reducing the main cost factor, besides personnel costs. The increased attractiveness and the intended increase in visitor numbers, which are aimed for by the general renovation of the pool, are intended to further increase cost efficiency.
