Clarification Plant Bayreuth - Renovation NKB 1+2

The City of Bayreuth intends to renovate secondary clarifiers 1 and 2 at the Bayreuth wastewater treatment plant. Currently, three secondary clarifiers are in operation. Secondary clarifier (NKB) 3 was built in 1998 and was already equipped with an adaptive central mechanism in 2024. NKBs 1 and 2 were built in 1975 and have been in operation ever since. These NKBs are now to be renovated and also equipped with an adaptive central mechanism. A concept study from October 2025 is available for this measure. Variant 1b: Renovation of secondary clarifiers 1 and 2 (renewal of scrapers) is to be implemented. The cost estimate from October 2025 puts the total investment costs (including ancillary construction costs) at EUR 6.84 million gross, or construction costs of approximately EUR 4.8 million net / EUR 5.70 million gross. With the present procedure, the planning services for the engineering structures and technical equipment (process and process technology, electrical engineering) according to HOAI are to be awarded. The NKBs are to be renovated one after the other; the total construction time is estimated at approx. 3 years. The earliest start of the construction measure is expected to be in summer/autumn 2027. Optional special services will also be awarded. The services are to be commenced after the procedure. The services will be called off and awarded in stages.
