Clinker facade - New construction of the Wittenberg District Archive

The Wittenberg District is seeking bids for Lot 17 – Clinker Facade as part of the new construction project for the Wittenberg District Archive. This tender encompasses a comprehensive range of services related to the external facade of the new archive building.

The scope of work includes detailed static calculations and technical planning, including laying and assembly plans. It also covers the establishment of the construction site for the contractor's own operations. Key construction elements involve approximately 124 m² of base waterproofing using reactive sealing on the concrete shell, and 124 m² of 180 mm perimeter insulation.

Furthermore, the tender requires 1476 m² of thermal insulation for the building structure behind facing masonry, also 180 mm thick, and 150 m² of barrier layers. A significant portion of the work involves 1600 m² of clinker facing masonry. Additional specifications include 230 m of masonry edge strips around openings, and 52 m² for ornamental masonry, incorporating features like staggered bonds and filter masonry.

The project also details the installation of 6 stainless steel gutters behind filter masonry, vertical expansion joints of 240 mm and horizontal expansion joints of 120 mm. The scope includes creating openings (for areas less than 2.50 m²), reveals for larger openings (over 2.50 m²), and covering openings with three-layer lintels, including angled versions. The work further specifies the use of 800 shaped bricks for corners and slopes, 79 scaffold bracket anchors, 12 wind brace constructions, and various wall supports and angle supports for lintels and prefabricated parts.

Finally, the tender addresses thermal separation for facade systems, cladding with thin brick slips (Riemchen) of the same clinker material, and the integration of 10 bird and bat habitats using nesting bricks within the facing masonry.
