Description

University College Dublin request Tenders for the supply, delivery and installation of a bioreactor platform for small-scale fermentation. The bioreactor platform must be capable of running parallel experiments in all the benchtop bioreactors with independent process control. The platform should consist of 3 x 3000 ml and 7 x 500 ml vessels. Each vessel should have the following accessories/measurements: ● Rushton impeller ● pH ● Dissolved Oxygen ● Heating - Heating Jacket ● Porous sparger ● Cooling ● Additional Gas line ● Level/foam sensor The following accessories/measurements are required on some of the systems ● Mass flow controller – Air (on 3 x 3000 ml and 3 x 500 ml), ● Advanced software (on at least 2 x 3000 ml and 2 x 500 ml) ● Biomass/OD (on 3 x 3000 ml and 3 x 500 ml) ● Off gas (on 1 x 3000 ml and 1 x 500 ml) ● Off gas integration (on 2 x 3000 ml and 2 x 500 ml) ● ORP sensor (on 2 x 3000 ml and 3 x 500 ml) ● Weight balance (on 1 x 3000 ml and 2 x 500 ml) ● Marine Impeller (on 2 x 3000 ml and 2 x 500 ml) All systems require ● Power backup in the form of UPS power supply ● Computer(s) for monitoring, logging and controlling operation ● Compressor air supply in the form of a “silent” compressor In addition the following supplementary equipment is required ● Autoclave: Vertical configuration to house vessel including the 3000 ml systems ● A shaking incubator for inoculum preparation Also the e-tender should cover the cost of Installation, Training and Carriage. Overall the bioreactor platform must enable the researchers to perform design of experiments and record process parameters reliably to facilitate technology transfer to pilot/industry scale.
