Lääkeautomaattipalvelulla tarkoitetaan lääkeautomaattien ja niiden etähallinnan mahdollistaman hallintajärjestelmän muodostamaa kokonaisuutta. Lääkeautomaattipalvelulla edistetään kotona asuvien iäkkäiden ja sellaisten henkilöiden, joiden toimintakyky on laskenut, turvallista ja itsenäistä kotona asumista mahdollisimman pitkään. Lääkeautomaatin tulee olla kustannustehokas ja asiakkaan turvallista lääkehoitoa edistävä hoitomuoto, joka vastaa ikääntyneiden palveluiden resurssoinnin ongelmiin sekä yhteiskunnan ikärakenteen myötä väistämättä kasvaviin asiakasmääriin. Tavoitteena on, että puitejärjestely mahdollistaa joustavan ja tarpeen mukaisen lääkeautomaattien ja niiden käytön aikaisten palveluiden hankinnan. Hankinnan kohteena on puitejärjestely, joka mahdollistaa joustavan, asiakkaan tarpeen mukaisen lääkeautomaattien hankinnan sekä käytönaikaisten palveluiden ja ylläpidon hankinnan. Asiantuntijat tekevät asiakaskohtaisen tuotevalinnan (lääkkeet lääkekipoissa vai lääkkeet annospusseissa) soveltuvuuden sekä hinnan perusteella. Hankinta on jaettu kahteen (2) osa-alueeseen seuraavasti: Osa-alue 1 Lääkeautomaatti, lääkkeet annospusseissa Osa-alue 2 Lääkeautomaatti, lääkkeet lääkekipoissa Tämä jälki-ilmoitus koskee vain osa-aluetta 2.
