Das Projekt ist in die Planfeststellungsabschnitte PFA Nord, PFA Mitte sowie die PFA Süd I und Süd II aufgeteilt. Durch den Bau der Regionaltangente West (RTW) werden auch Leitungen der Hessenwasser GmbH & Co. KG tangiert, die im Zuge der Realisierung der RTW umgelegt werden müssen.
