Lot 2: Media Technology

This tender concerns Lot 2: Media Technology for the public accessibility and presentation of selected, individual, non-contiguous rooms within Allstedt Castle, in commemoration of the 500th anniversary of Thomas Müntzer and the Peasants' War. The project aims to highlight different aspects of interpretation within these spaces. Specifically, an audiovisual installation will be created in the "Hofstube" (court room) located in the west wing of the keep. This approximately 105 m2, cuboid-shaped room, an authentic site of Thomas Müntzer's famous "Fürstenpredigt" (Sermon to the Princes), will feature a multi-minute audiovisual presentation vividly staging the life, rise, fall, and impact of Thomas Müntzer. In contrast, the adjacent castle kitchen (approx. 114 m2), with its 25 m2, 20-meter-high smoke chimney, offers a tangible architectural element of the living conditions of Thomas Müntzer and his contemporaries. This space will serve as an introductory and preparatory area for visitors before they engage with the immersive multimedia experience in the Hofstube. Furthermore, on the first floor of the opposite east wing of the keep, an exhibition area of approximately 250 m2 will be utilized. Here, the content presented in the Hofstube's multimedia experience will be museologically contextualized and displayed within a thematic exhibition unit. The focus is on creating an engaging and informative visitor experience through advanced media technology within a historically significant setting.
