Mainframe Infrastructure Maintenance Service at Deutsche Bundesbank

As Germany's central bank, Deutsche Bundesbank is part of the European System of Central Banks and belongs to the public administration. As the supreme federal authority, its tasks include not only supplying trade and banks with cash and managing currency reserves but also refinancing and clearing for credit institutions, as well as defining and implementing measures to ensure price stability. In its role as a provider within the 4CB framework for the European System of Central Banks, high-availability payment and securities applications, namely Target2 and Target2-Securities, are provided on the Deutsche Bundesbank's mainframe. To ensure the high availability of the associated infrastructure of the national z/OS systems and the European z/OS systems of the Eurosystem Market Infrastructure Platform (EMIP), the software products of the z/OS systems must be regularly maintained and updated. Furthermore, security-relevant updates must be regularly applied to the z/OS systems. With this tender, Deutsche Bundesbank wishes to commission a service provider to independently take over the maintenance of these z/OS systems as a service. The service takeover will occur after the contractor has accompanied a maintenance cycle of the current service provider. Deutsche Bundesbank plans a maximum of 9 months for the takeover of the maintenance service.
