ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION
The International Finance Corporation (IFC), member of the World Bank Group seeks to competitively procure the services of a qualified consulting firm to conduct a comprehensive market and feasibilitystudy on coffee value addition opportunities in Ethiopia for its potentila client. The assignment will assess commercially viable export-oriented value-added coffee products, including cold brew concentrate, premium instant coffee, decaffeinated coffee, roasted and ground coffee, coffee capsules, and related coffee extracts. The consultant will map and evaluate market opportunities, shortlist the most attractive options, assess technical, operational, regulatory, and financialfeasibility, identify potential buyers/off-takers and partners, and provideevidence-based recommendations to guide the client’s investment decision and IFC’spotential financing strategy.
Key
Deliverables:
Inception Report, including workplan, methodology, data collection approach, and stakeholder engagement plan.
Opportunity Mapping and Shortlisting Report, including comparative assessment of value-added coffee products, scoring matrix, and shortlist of 2–3 priority opportunities.
Market Entry and Feasibility Analysis Report for shortlisted opportunities, covering target markets, buyer/off-taker assessment, route-to-market options, technical and operational requirements, regulatory considerations, CAPEX needs, financial projections, ROI, and sensitivity analysis.
Identification of potential B2B buyers, off-takers, joint venture partners, equipment suppliers, and relevant market entry partners.
Draft Final Report incorporating IFC and client feedback.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The World Bank Group invites eligible firms to indicate their interest in providing the services.
Interested firms must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc. for firms; CV and cover letter for individuals).
Please note that the total size of all attachments should be less than 5MB. Firms may associate to enhance their qualifications unless otherwise stated in the solicitation documents. Where a group of firms associate to submit an EOI, they must indicate which is the lead firm.
If shortlisted, the firm identified in the EOI as the lead firm will be invited to the request for proposal (RFP) phase.

Following this invitation for EOI, a shortlist of qualified firms will be formally invited to submit proposals. Shortlisting and selection will be subject to the availability of funding.
