MeRSZ Service

This tender concerns the provision of the MeRSZ Service, an online multidisciplinary digital library offered by Akadémiai Kiadó. The MeRSZ database is continuously expanding and provides full-text access to a wide range of scholarly publications. It includes key handbooks, professional books, and university notes from Akadémiai Kiadó, as well as numerous legal, tax, and HR-related professional books from Wolters Kluwer Hungary Kft. Additionally, it features selected volumes from other academic publishers such as Debreceni University Press, Semmelweis Publishing, and Ludovika University Publisher. The collection covers publications across humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences (both living and inanimate). The platform features a user-friendly interface with extensive search capabilities, allowing users to search the entire database or individual works. Search functionality is enhanced by a stemming algorithm and a predictive list, with results sorted by relevance for quick access. The system supports bookmarking, personal notes, and exporting citations in BibTex, EndNote, Mendeley, and Zotero formats. While the XML-based interface currently does not offer PDF downloads, individual chapters with notes can be copied to the clipboard and pasted into any text editor. MeRSZ is available in both Hungarian and English. Access is provided via IP-based authentication, eliminating the need for password entry. Remote access is also facilitated through eduID authentication for users of participating institutions, and for others, individual account creation is available. There is no limit on the number of concurrent users, allowing unlimited access for students in higher education. The publisher will provide weekly reports on document views per institution.
