Central German S-Bahn Network II

The subject is the provision of scheduled transport services in regional rail passenger transport, amounting to approximately 7.3 million train kilometers per year, on the following lines: • S 2: Dessau – Bitterfeld – Leipzig – Markkleeberg-Gaschwitz, • S 7: Eilenburg – Delitzsch – Halle (Saale) – Lutherstadt Eisleben – Sangerhausen, • S 8: Dessau/Lutherstadt Wittenberg – Bitterfeld – Halle (Saale), • RE 13: Magdeburg – Dessau – Leipzig, • RB 51: Dessau – Lutherstadt Wittenberg – Falkenberg (Elster), • RE 14: Dessau – Lutherstadt Wittenberg. Additionally, the following optional operating services are to be commissioned within the scope of this contract: • provision of transport services on line RB 52 Magdeburg Hbf – Dessau Hbf with a volume of approx. 0.7 million train kilometers per year (Option 1), • provision of transport services on line S 22 Leipzig Hbf – Delitzsch CTC with a volume of approx. 0.19 million train kilometers per year (Option 2), • provision of transport services to increase the frequency of line RB 51 to hourly in the section Lutherstadt Wittenberg – Falkenberg with a volume of approx. 0.27 million train kilometers per year (Option 3) • provision of the transport services subject to this contract in the 2046 timetable year (Option 4). The decision to commission these optional operating services will be made by the respective responsible transport authorities: the state of Saxony-Anhalt for Option 1, the transport association for the Leipzig region for Option 2, and the states of Saxony-Anhalt and Brandenburg for Option 3 upon award of the contract. The commencement of the optional operating services will be at the earliest at the timetable change in December 2031 (December 14, 2031) and at the latest at the timetable change in December 2032 (December 12, 2032). Information on the start date of the optional operating services will be provided upon award of the contract.
