Mosbach - General renovation of Ludwig-Erhard-School HVAC

The Neckar-Odenwald district in Mosbach plans the general renovation of the Ludwig-Erhard-School, Commercial Schools Mosbach, in a central downtown location in Katzenhorn. The general renovation includes building parts A and B with approximately 8015 m² of gross floor area from the 1970s. The gymnasium is not part of the renovation. The buildings of the Ludwig-Erhard-School are located in the immediate vicinity of the buildings of the Pestalozzi-Realschule, the Nikolaus-Kistner-Gymnasium, the outdoor swimming pool, and the Jahnhalle. The property is bordered by a large parking lot on Hammerweg, Jean de la Fontaine Street, the Elz stream that divides the town, and the outdoor swimming pool area. The energy supply for the school campus is currently provided by a transformer station located in the building, a photovoltaic system, and a connection to the local district heating network. As part of a feasibility study from 2024, the feasibility of an energy-efficient renovation and modernization of building parts A and B was investigated. The improvement of accessibility should also be considered. Although technical systems have been maintained and partially renewed during their service life, they are now to be re-conceptualized and completely renewed as part of the general renovation. In particular, heat generation, heat transfer, and central or decentralized ventilation systems are to be considered in variants. For the duration of the general renovation during ongoing school operations, partial relocation of classrooms to a container facility is planned.
