In 2022 heeft HVC de inzamelactiviteiten van Stadswerk072 overgenomen. Als onderdeel van deze overname is tevens de werkplaats aan de Herculesstraat overgenomen. Deze locatie is echter niet beschikbaar als structurele huisvestingsoplossing voor HVC. Om te voorzien in een toekomstbestendige huisvesting is in 2023 een bouwkavel aangekocht aan de Olivijnstraat te Alkmaar. Op basis van nader onderzoek is besloten om de BU Inzameling, inclusief werkplaatsfunctie, gezamenlijk te huisvesten met de BU Logistiek in één nieuw te realiseren bedrijfsgebouw op deze locatie. Met de ontwikkeling van deze nieuwbouw worden alle medewerkers van Logistiek en Inzameling Alkmaar, inclusief het bijbehorende materieel en wagenpark, op één centrale locatie ondergebracht.
