Die gesamte Waldparkanlage ist Teil des Landschaftsschutzgebietes Grunewald. Das Gebiet ist geprägt durch waldartige Bereiche mit teilweise altem Baumbestand. Das Gelände ist zum Wasser hin abschüssig, stellenweise steil. Die Lage des des Bauvorhabens im Landschaftsschutzgebiet und teilweise im Wasserschutzgebiet macht die ökologische und baumschutzfachliche Baubegleitung (ÖBB) besonders erforderlich und ist zudem durch das Umwelt- und Naturschutzamt gefordert. Die ÖBB soll mit Baubeginn und während der gesamten Baumaßnahme eingebunden werden. Neben der Erfassung der Schutzgegenstände und Schutzmaßnahmen vor Baubeginn und der Kontrolle während der Baumaßnahme, soll die örtliche Bauleitung auf die fachliche Unterstützung und Beratung der ÖBB zurückgreifen können, insbesondere wenn Arbeiten in Baumbereichen stattfinden müssen, in denen der beste Schutz der betreffenden Bäume nicht eindeutig bestimmbar ist.
