Binnen de afdeling Beheer Openbare Ruimte (BOR) van de gemeente Lelystad worden ca. 297 kunstwerken beheert. De kunstwerken binnen de gemeente Lelystad zijn grotendeels in de periode van 1970 tot 1990 aangelegd en dienen de aankomende jaren in groot onderhoud te gaan waarbij het enerzijds gaat om lokale herstelpunten tot het, gedeeltelijk, vervangen van (hoofd)draagconstructies. Daarnaast dient er dagelijks onderhoud aan de verschillende kunstwerken plaats te vinden in de vorm van reinigen tot aan herstel van aansluitende elementenverharding. De kunstwerken betreffen met name houten, betonnen en stalen bruggen. Het uiteindelijke doel van het onderhoud is om er zorg voor te dragen dat de kunstwerken bijdragen aan een duurzame, robuuste en betrouwbare infrastructuur binnen de gemeente Lelystad.
