Repair and extension of Oulunkylä wooden church, total contract The Helsinki Parish Union is requesting your contract bid for the total contract of the Oulunkylä wooden church repair and extension project in accordance with this tender request and its appendices.
The location of the site is Siltavuodintie 12, 00640 Helsinki.
The construction site comprises the repair and extension of the Oulunkylä wooden church, i.e., the so-called old church. The existing area of the site is approximately 219 m² and the extension area will be approximately 250 brm². The bell tower (14 m²) is included in the repair scope. Repair measures and a more detailed description of the project, the content of the total contract, and the requirements for the offer are presented in the tender notice and other documents attached to the tender request.
The wooden church was built in 1905 as a prayer room for the Evangelical Union. The bell tower next to the church was completed in 1932. The church drawings were made by building master K. F. Bergman.
The existing wooden church will be treated as a protected building. The project includes several repair points for the church, e.g., the floorboards of the wooden church's nave and the underfloor insulation will be renewed, and the underfloor structures will be repaired, the usability and safety of the church's gallery and the stairs leading to it will be improved, the exit safety of the gallery will be improved by converting the gallery window into an emergency exit window and by adding a roof ladder and steps to the wall above the entrance canopy, a new HVAC machine room will be built in the church attic, and the church's ventilation will be converted to mechanical supply-exhaust, etc.
A single-story extension will be built on the plot for parish use, which will house spaces supporting the church's activities. The extension will be connected to the existing church building with an internal connection. A geothermal heat system will be installed on the plot instead of the current district heating. Stormwater retention structures will be built on the plot, and the plot will be connected to the city's stormwater network.
The client requires that the tenderer has familiarized themselves with the construction site, its conditions, and characteristics, either under the guidance of the client or independently before submitting an offer. The site will be presented under the guidance of the client on 22.9.2026 at 11 AM-12 PM. Please register in advance at least 24 hours prior to the project manager presenting the site (contact details in the contract program). NOTE! This is the only presentation event organized under the client's guidance, and it will be held.
The contract costing period for the site is September-October 2026, the contractor selection will be made in October-December 2026, and the works at the site will be carried out tentatively between 04/2027–03/2028. The selected contractor will be responsible for tree felling works, which must be completed before 04/2027.
Tenderers are requested to note that a clarification negotiation will be held on Friday, 9.10.2026, from 9 AM to 10 AM at the premises of the Helsinki Parish Union, to which the contractor must be prepared to attend.
The cheapest price will be used as the selection criterion for comparing offers, as the essential quality-affecting factors have been comprehensively considered in the definition of the procurement object and the minimum requirements of the procurement.,
