La volumétrie du nouveau bâtiment est lisible et compacte, en forme de L et sur deux niveaux, sʼarticulant sur le site afin dʼoffrir des orientations adaptées à chaque usager. Le bâtiment se rattache par ses dimensions aux gabarits de la place dʼarmes, soulignant ainsi son lien avec celle-ci. Le bâtiment visant la labélisation Minergie P eco fera la part belle aux énergies renouvelables et aux matériaux écologiques tels que le bois pour sa structure.
