The objective of this Call for Partnerships is to secure high-quality scientific, technical, and stakeholder-engagement support for the development of a participatory marine spatial plan for the Costa de Pedernales area (Pedernales River–Punta Picé), a high-priority marine-coastal area covering approximately 1,400 km² in the Dominican Republic.

The activities will be implemented under the UNDP/GEF/UNOPS PROCARIBE+ Project and in accordance with the relevant collaborative agreement between UNESCO and UNOPS.The selected Implementation Partner will be responsible for supporting the design and implementation of the marine spatial planning process, undertaking the necessary assessments of present and future conditions, facilitating stakeholder engagement, and developing the marine spatial plan and associated implementation measures in accordance with internationally recognized MSP principles and the MSPglobal International Guide on MSP.The expected outputs of the partnership include:• A workplan for implementation of the activities;• A documented design of the marine spatial planning process, including stakeholder engagement arrangements;• An assessment of present and future conditions relevant to marine spatial planning in the project area, applying a climate-smart and biodiversity conservation-inclusive approach; and• A participatory marine spatial plan for the Costa de Pedernales area, including supporting technical documentation and recommendations for implementation.Detailed objectives, activities, outputs, deliverables, and requirements are provided in the Terms of Reference (Annex 1).Final BeneficiariesThe primary beneficiaries of this partnership are governmental institutions, coastal communities, economic sectors, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders involved in the sustainable management and use of marine and coastal resources in the Costa de Pedernales area of the Dominican Republic.
