The Gidabo project area is located in the abaya-chamo sub basin of the rift valley lakes basin in the southern part of Ethiopia, within the administrative regions of Oromia and in the former SNNP (Currently Sidama Region). It falls in Abaya district of West Guji zone of Oromia region and Loca Abaya Woreda of Sidama region (Near Dilla town to east of Lake Abaya). The project site is approachable from Addis Ababa via Dilla town. Addis Ababa to Dilla Road has a length of 360 Km by asphalt road and from Dilla town to Gidabo dam site is 17 km by all- weather road. The Gidabo Irrigation scheme consists of Right and Left Main Canal System to irrigate a total of 13,522ha net irrigation area located on the right and left side of Gidabo River. The combined total net irrigable area on the right side of the development area is designed to be 5000 ha, which is totally to be by gravity irrigation. The right bank 5000 ha of irrigable land will be constructed by Arab Bank for Economic Development of Africa (BADEA) loan and the Ministry of Irrigation and lowlands /National PESAPYE Project Coordination Office. Scope of Works The Scope of the Consultancy Services includes the following components but not limited to – 1. Construction Supervision and Contract Management Services of the Gidabo Sidama Irrigation infrastructure project. 2. Design Review and updating bill quantity before the startup of construction work with the contractor. Sequentially modifying the drawings and necessary activities. Specific Expected Deliverable or Outputs Supervision of construction and contract administration, Submission of Monthly, quarterly Progress Reports Ensure contractors obligation in Environmental and social safeguard Submission of Revised Bill of quantity report Design Review before start up the construction works Approval of payment certificate 2 Eligibility Criteria The eligibility of the consultant shall be from Arab , Africa or Arab - African firm and shall not be black listed by BADEA and the firm’s country.
