Assignment Title: Staffing of the Project Implementation Unit - Procurement Specialist

The Republic of Suriname has received a loan from the World Bank towards the Suriname Preparedness and Enhancing Resilient Communities Project, and seeks to hire a Project Procurement Specialist to complete the Implementing Unit, Super Project Unit.

The consulting services (“the Services”) include:

  1. Carrying out the tasks of Procurement Specialist.
  2. Providing support to the Ministry of Public Works & Spatial Planning.
  3. Working with consultants, contractors and suppliers.

The Ministry of Public Works & Spatial Planning now invites eligible individual Consultants to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Consultants can submit a written application to the Ministry of Public Works and Spatial Planning at the address below and will be provided with the complete Terms of Reference (TOR).

The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to Section III, paragraphs 3.14, 3.16 and 3.17 of the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” (Sixth edition February 2025) (“Procurement Regulations”), setting forth the World Bank’ policy on conflict of interest.

The Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Selection of Individual Consultants Method set out in the Procurement Regulations. The Consultant is responsible for meeting all tax liabilities, transportation costs arising out of the contract unless stated otherwise. For national consultants, payment will be in Surinaamse Dollars (SRD).
