Description
Les Transports de la région Morges-Bière-Cossonay (MBC) planifient la transformation et la modernisation du site d’exploitation et d’entretien de Bière. Le site de Bière est le centre névralgique de la production ferroviaire des MBC. Pour continuer à remplir cette fonction, il doit être modernisé en tenant compte du développement de la production ferroviaire (horizon de planification 2060), des besoins de la clientèle multimodale et de leur évolution (y compris P+R, services) et des différentes bases légales (en particulier la LHand). Avec sa situation proche du centre de la commune, il doit également être valorisé en exploitant son potentiel urbanistique (y compris immobilier) pour en faire un lieu de vie, intégré au village.
Le projet comprend la construction d’une gare couverte s’articulant sur une place publique multifonctionnelle et multimodale, la réaffectation de l’atelier actuel en dépôt et la création d’un nouvel atelier accueillant également les locaux du personnel des MBC.
