An der Strecke Bleiburg – Innichen wird am bestehenden Bahnhof Rothenthurn ÖBB km 191.300 bis ÖBB km 193.000 zwei neue Randbahnsteige erstellt. Weiters erhält der Bahnhof ein neues Bahnsteiggleis Gleis 4. Am bestehenden Randbahnsteig Gleis 3 wird die Bahnsteigkante neu versetzt und der Bahnsteig auf den Stand der Technik umgebaut bzw. ausgerüstet. Als Verbindung zwischen den Bahnsteigen wird bei ÖBB km 191.780 ein Personentunnel samt Liftanlagen errichtet. Beim Randbahnsteig Gleis 4 wird eine neue Park&Ride – Anlage samt Bushaltestelle errichtet. Weiters erhält der Bahnhof zwei neue Bike&Ride – Anlagen mit Dach. Die Stiegenabgänge sowie der Warteunterstand am Randbahnsteig Gleis 4 werden überdacht ausgeführt. Im Zuge des Bahnhofumbaues wird die bestehende Gemeindestraße als Zufahrt zur Park&Ride – Anlage und zur Bushaltestelle Gleis 4 auf einer Länge von ca. 350 m abgetragen, verbreitert und neu errichtet. Für die Entwässerung der Gemeindestraße werden Sickerschlitze errichtet. Weiters wird die Eisenbahnkreuzung bei ÖBB km 191.486 saniert sowie die bestehende Gemeindestraße in diesen Bereich angepasst. Bei ÖBB km 192.529 wird die Eisenbahnbrücke Schwarzenbach saniert. Die Brücke erhält ein neues Tragwerk sowie neue Flügelmauern, Randbalken und Kabeltrogabführungen. Im gesamten Projektsbereich werden die Kabeltröge sowie Rohrzugtrassen errichtet. Für die Entwässerung von Gleis 2 werden Mehrzweckrohre samt Putzschächten errichtet. Die Ausleitung erfolgt in neue Bahngräben.
