Description

Agency: UNCDF | Reference: UNCDF-00718 | Type: Request for proposal IntroductionThe United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF), in collaboration with the European Union (EU) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and in partnership with Enabel and UNESCO, is implementing the Support to Sustainable Tourism Value Chain in Uganda project. The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the inclusive and sustainable growth of Uganda’s nature-based tourism sector, in line with the principles of the Forest Partnership. The specific objectives (outcomes) of the project are to:Increase Uganda’s visibility and attractiveness as a sustainable travel destination.Enhance local communities’ participation in and benefits from tourism in natural landscapes, while supporting the conservation of these landscapes.Improve the business environment and strengthen companies’ participation in the tourism value chain, including their engagement with local communities. To support these objectives, UNCDF seeks to engage a service provider to supply, deploy and implement a digitization platform tailored to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) operating within Uganda’s nature-based tourism value chain. The platform is expected to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of business record-keeping and core business processes, including asset management, procurement, bookings and sales, and expense management. It should also provide real-time access to business data to support informed decision-making and facilitate interoperability with financial service providers. The intervention targets the digitization of 200 MSMEs operating across different segments of the nature-based tourism value chain within selected tourism circuits in Uganda.UNCDF’s digitization intervention will complement Enabel’s support for digital marketing training and linkages to the national digital tourism hub through the Explore Uganda website. It will also complement the International Trade Centre’s (ITC) support for the deployment and use of e-commerce and social commerce platforms.Submission of ProposalsInterested suppliers must submit their offers directly through the online procurement system, following the instructions provided in the solicitation document and the applicable user guides.Suppliers who have not previously registered on the system may create a profile using the registration link provided in the procurement notice and follow the instructions available on the UNDP procurement resources webpage:https://www.undp.org/procurement/business/resources-for-bidders.Suppliers who already have a profile must not create a new one.
