Description

The Department of Transport and Planning (Organisation) plans, builds and operates an integrated, sustainable and safe transport system for Australia’s fastest-growing state. Since 1 July 2019, VicRoads and Public Transport Victoria have been part of the Organisation. As the Victorian Government’s central transport agency, we are accountable for all portfolio funding provided through the State Budget. Our purpose is to deliver simple, connected journeys for people and for freight. Our vision is to meet the aspirations of Victorians for a transport system that is simple, connected, accessible, reliable, safe and supports a productive, growing economy. The Department of Transport and Planning is seeking responses to this RFT for the Provision of Specialist Medical Advice Services is seeking responses to this RFT for the Provision of Specialist Medical Advice Services. The Services to be provided under this Agreement require the Supplier to provide specialist medical advice in relation to the impact of medical condition/s on a Victorian driver licence/permit holder or applicant’s fitness to drive safely. The Supplier shall engage suitably qualified and experienced medical specialists who shall examine the medical history and medical records (referred to hereafter as the medical case) of a licence / permit holder/applicant and based on the review of the case by the medical specialist and any discussions with the person’s treating practitioner, provide an independent medical opinion/recommendation whether the driver licence / permit holder/applicant is safe to drive in accordance with the national driver medical standards - Austroads and National Transport Commission / NTC publication “Assessing fitness to drive for commercial and private vehicle drivers”.
