Beide Fachverfahren wurden durch die Firma Telecomputer GmbH zum 31.12.2027 abgekündigt (End of Life). Die internetbasierte Fahrzeugzulassung (i-Kfz) wird seit dem Jahr 2015 als gemeinsame mandantenfähige dezentrale Lösung für die 18 Aufgabenträger im Land Brandenburg beim Brandenburgischen IT-Dienstleister (ZIT-BB) realisiert. Diese Ausschreibung berücksichtigt 16 der 18 Leistungsempfänger des Landes Brandenburg. Die Übersicht der Leistungsempfänger ist im Folgenden vorhanden. 16 IKOL-KFZ-Installationen und 15 IKOL-FS-Installationen müssen in den Kommunen durch ein neues Fachverfahren abgelöst werden. Die Installation hat wahlweise (je Aufgabenträger) beim Aufgabenträger selbst oder in einem von der Kommune beauftragten Rechenzentrum zu erfolgen. Die Verordnung über die Zulassung von Fahrzeugen zum Straßenverkehr (Fahrzeug-Zulassungsverordnung - FZV) regelt die Geschäftsvorgänge der Fahrzeugzulassung.
