Washer-disinfectors

The ukb-AESCULAP InstrumentenManagement GmbH operates a reprocessing unit for medical devices (AEMP) at the Unfallkrankenhaus Berlin site, which plays a central role in sterile supply for operating room operations. The currently used equipment has reached the end of its normal service life and must therefore be completely renewed. The aim of the tender is to replace the existing systems with modern, efficient and compliant equipment in order to ensure long-term operational safety, patient safety and compliance with all legal and hygienic requirements. The procurement will be carried out in four construction phases while the AEMP is in operation. It is expressly required that the execution is organized in such a way that the sterile supply of the hospital is maintained at all times. This requires close coordination with the contracting authority as well as flexible construction and installation processes. As part of Lot 1, eight washer-disinfectors (RDG), one washer-disinfector for endoscopes (RDG-E) and two container washing machines (CWA) are to be delivered, installed, commissioned and accepted. Lot 2 comprises the delivery, installation, commissioning and acceptance of three steam sterilizers with a capacity of 12 StE each, one steam sterilizer with a capacity of 6 StE and one low-temperature sterilizer. Further construction phases concern the upgrading of the packing area and supplementary infrastructure measures. The offered equipment must comply with the state of the art, enable validatable processes, operate energy-efficiently and meet the relevant standards (e.g. DIN EN ISO 13485) as well as the recommendations of KRINKO/BfArM. Special requirements also exist for ergonomics, cost-effectiveness, process reliability and easy integration into existing operational processes. The contractor is responsible for the complete delivery, assembly, commissioning, including function and safety testing, as well as the handover of operational systems. Training of the operating personnel is part of the service. Furthermore, it is expected that the contractors will take measures to protect ongoing operations, minimize downtime and maintain the high hygiene standards of the Unfallkrankenhaus. This procurement aims to ensure that the AEMP can continue to safely, efficiently and compliantly reprocess the approximately 100,000 units of sterile goods per year with over 4.5 million surgical instruments.
