Request for Expression of Interest (EOI) for Design and Build of five (5) Wastewater Treatment Plants and one (1) Chemical Storage at Thermal Power Plant of Kosovo B (TPP) in KosovoThis Request for Expression of Interest (EOI) of UNOPS intends to identify interested qualified and competent vendors for the scope listed below.
Please note that this EOI does not constitute a tender process at this stage.
UNOPS will issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) at a later stage for the purpose of identfying the most suitable company for the purpose of finalizing the project.Development of the Design for the Construction of five (5) Wastewater Treatment Plants and one (1) Chemical Storage at Thermal Power Plant “Kosovo B” andUndertake the Construction Works for the Building of five (5) Wastewater Treatment Plants and one (1) Chemical Storage facility at Kosovo B TPP.The project will address the key components identified in the EU feasibility study with the construction of the wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) and the chemical storage building to install a proper wastewater system and develop capacities of personnel to operationalize and maintain the plants.At Kosovo B TPP, six different types of wastewater streams have been identified, each discharging at different points of the facility but are collected in a single channel discharging water into the river of Sitnica.
These include: Sludge produced by softening (decarbonisation) treatment;Overflow of decarbonised and demineralised water basins;Bottom ash removal;Fly ash removal and disposal;Civil sewage system including surface drainage;Oily and heavy fuel oil water;Following the implementation of a feasibility study, the development of a wastewater system(s) compliant with European Union (EU) Directives and Kosovo regulations was recommended.
Building an appropriate wastewater system is to consist of specific treatment processes for each of the different wastewater streams, in order to ensure that the discharge into the river Sitnica is fully compliant with necessary environmental standards to comply with the most recent European and local legislation for wastewater emissions.__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________IMPORTANT NOTE: Interested vendors must respond to this EOI using the UNOPS eSourcing system, via the UNGM portal.
