RFT 2026-03 Wiluna Airport Pavement Repairs - Civil Works
Description
The Shire of Wiluna (WA) requires the services of a multi-disciplinary civil contractor to complete remediation and repair works to the Wiluna Airport runway, apron, taxiways, as well as surrounds in terms of drainage and water management problems. The layout of the sealed Airport pavements consists of the following:
• Main Runway 15/33 – 1811m long and 30m wide, with turning nodes at each end;
• Taxiway Alpha – 90m long and 15m wide;
• Main Apron – 124m long and 45m wide.
The pavement areas of the runway, taxiway and apron require patch repairs, seal rejuvenation, line marking reinstatement and application of fuel resistant surfacing on the aircraft parking positions. The various surface defects of the pavement areas are as follows:
• Rutting: depression deformations due to settlement of the pavement sublayers
• Cracking: being fissures resulting from fractures of the pavement surface.
